At S+C we base our activities on decades of experience in the production of indirectly heated rotary kilns and pusher tubes for the refractory metal powder industry. We are continuously working to expand our wide range of in-house developed materials and of our product portfolio to meet industry's requirements.
Refractory metals, such as molybdenum and tungsten, have an extremely high melting point and cannot be produced by melting metallurgy. The powders of these metals are produced by thermochemical reduction. In this process, the oxidic feedstock is treated, in several stages, by calcination and reduction under hydrogen atmosphere, resulting in real metal powders.
The oxides of these powder metals are calcined and reduced in indirectly heated rotary kilns and in so-called multi-tube or pusher-type furnaces. Based on decades of experience and contacts with well-known furnace builders and users in this industry, S+C supplies rotary kilns and pusher tubes made of special heat-resistant centrifugally cast alloys, which can be individually adapted to customer's requirements.
